For her education Lexis was a homeschooler during the time she was in high school. in September of 2012, she been admitted to Louisiana State University to pursue an undergraduate education. They must be graduates within the next few months, but the grade that she earned from the institution she attended is still unknown. Being born into a family of golfers Lexis was no novice to the predominantly male-dominated sports. She started playing at a very young age and she became the youngest golfer qualified for the US Women's Open at the age of 12 years old in 2007. While she did not win however, in 2007, she took home the Aldila Junior Classic and became the second. she was the most youthful American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) player to ever win this title, along with winning the Westfield Junior PGA Championship as the youngest player to do so at the time.
